KNOXVILLE — Amid all the flashier NFL-caliber talent on Tennessee's offense, there's Dallas Thomas, quietly going about his business.

Among all the playmaking skill-positions players and the two bookend tackles grabbing a share of attention, there's the Volunteers' fifth-year senior plugging away at left guard.

"I'm just going with the flow," Thomas called it earlier this week.

It's easy to overlook him -- unless you're an NFL scout.

This is a good article. The Times Free Press consistently produces good articles. They are much better than the KNS.

3 stars 5 yrs and 5 losses to the Crimson Tide.
NFL stands for not for long league, but hopefully he can make a few paychecks.

You would think that as much as your Tide wins, you would relax a bit and try to show a little more class and sportsmanship. I met a lot of nice Bama fans when I flew into Knoxville for the game this year. Try to emulate them, people would respect your opinions more if you did.

When he gets to the NFL I don't think they will give a rats behind about whenther he lost to the tide or not. For that matter, nobody really cares about the tide other than bammers. Better hope ya'll don't play the ducks!

You know, some of your posts are just typical Alabama fodder, but this was very distasteful and rude. You should be ashamed of yourself. This is a kid who has made good for himself. There are a lot of 3* on Alabama too who make it. UT has just as many in the NFL as Alabama, maybe more. In fact the UT guys are making much more impact in the NFL than Alabama guys. Mark Ingram had a 3rd string back show him up the other night. You are so inconsiderate, I'll pray for your salvation. You obviously need some guidance in your life. I really feel sorry for your condition.

Quit crying and get tougher skin. Being a vandy fan we have listened to UT junk for years. Now we can talk a little smack UT fans are weak. Start wiining if you wanna shut up the other fans, until then take your medicine like the rest of us. Bottom Dwellers..

It's written by Patrick Brown who does a good job, maybe the best, in covering the football program. You'll not see him following the herd and hated as Adams or Weidmer or trying to be cute or likeable as Rucker. Just report the facts.

Let us know when Vandy beats a team with a winning record. DERP!

Enjoy your "Smack talk" while you can. Wait until another school with a larger budget comes calling and Franklin will leave vandy so fast your head will spin. And then you will assume your normal position. Bottom Dweller.

Franklin is a short timer at vanderbilt. He would be a championship calibre coach if he were half as good as he thinks he is. Lot's of talk but he cant back it up. He will get an opportunity at a good school soon and will last about as long as Chizek at auburn.
