CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Monique Reid scored 14 points in just 10 minutes, and No. 8 Louisville routed Austin Peay 90-52 Thursday night in the Cardinals' first road game this season.
Reid is playing limited minutes after a left knee injury ended her season last December. The senior made the most of her time in the first half, hitting six of seven shots and grabbing five rebounds with two steals.
Shoni Schimmel and Shawnta' Dyer each added 12 points for Louisville (3-0). The Cardinals (3-0) trailed only 2-0 and took the lead for good on a couple 3-pointers by Antonita Slaughter.
Leslie Martinez had 14 points for Austin Peay (0-2). The Lady Govs from the Ohio Valley Conference were hosting a Top 10 team for the first time and led off the opening bucket by Kaitlyn Hill. They went cold after pulling to 30-27, and Louisville took control with a 14-0 run.
