NASHVILLE - Vanderbilt athletics director David Williams wouldn’t mind the headaches that would come with other schools pursuing his football coach.
It’s far better than the alternative.
“It sort of means we’re on the right track,” Williams said. “If we were 0-11, you’d be asking me, ‘When are you going to get rid of your coach?’ I’m happy to worry about it. It means we’ve got the right coach. We’ve got a coach that other people want.”
Williams expects James Franklin to draw interest after leading Vanderbilt to five SEC wins for the first time in 77 years.
