I think it should be every fan who could and did go to every game during this painful season.

We were gluttons for punishment.
It sure was nice to see the Vols win yesterday, though.

I wasn't happy with the season either, but name calling a bunch of college kids shows just what kind of human being you are!

But to answer the question, Bray and Hunter put up some really good numbers, Patterson made some outstanding plays for TD's, but my vote goes to Zach Rogers. He had a great year which no one expected him to do. He ran great routes and could hang on to the ball much better than Hunter. Would love to see someone give Rogers a chance and see what kind of slot receiver he can be. Like Wes Welker or Brandon Stokley.

With just an average defense, we would have been 9-3 and going to a top bowl, maybe playing in the SEC Championship Saturday, thanks to having one of the best quarterbacks in the nation. In my opinion, Tyler Bray was by far the MVP.

Naming a most valuable player on the 2012 team would be like singling out the leper with the most fingers in the colony.

And the hard earned $$$$ every fan spent on supporting our team.

Dave Hart is the MVP for getting rid of Dooley.

ZACH ROGERS

He's the obvious choice in my opinion.

Patterson & Hunter showed glimpses of their talents sporadically. Bray was great 3 1/2 quarters of every game, almost that in the big games but froze up in the last 10 minutes of the big games.

Zac Rogers was this team's Eric Berry.

MVP IS BRAY,AND PATTERSON,CO-MVPS,WE WOULD'NT HAVE WON THE GAMES WE DID, IF WE HAD NOT ADDED PATTERSON TO THE TEAM! GREAT PICKUP!!!

lmao...Bray got 11% of the vote? Leads the SEC in TDs and yardage and gets 11%? What a joke!

Justin Worley for watching Bray continually fail against good teams, sticking it out and never complaining.

2012 - cdd's 3rd and final (thankfully during this time of Thanksgiving) year.

And the 3rd year of wouldas, couldas, shouldas, ifs and buts.

Many goog records set by our offense, but the one our D gave up in Neyland may stand forever - 700+ yards to....troy. Grand kids will think it is a typo.

CroKev writes:

I'd say A.J. Johnson for his play on both sides of the ball. He was the lone bright spot on the D and he also ran in a lot of short yardage TD's from the "wildcat" ...

Most valuable usually is connected to something good happening, like wins, big plays to pull out victories. This team did not have a most valuable member. They were all involved in laying a big brown turd in the middle of Shields Watkins field that stunk so bad the fans could not stand to come to the games. It would be a joke to award anyone off this team any awards. They got hosed game after game. I vote to not have any banquet or recognition of any kind for this bunch of losers. Sure you can point to a game where one looked better than another but no player was the bell cow who willed the team to victories like an Al Wilson, Payton Manning to name a couple.

James Franklin - MVP.

So, trolltownzzzz, how many standouts on that horrible Florida offense? Their offense was every bit as bad as our defense. If you guys had anything close to Bray/Hunter/Patterson/Rogers/Rivera, you'd be playing for the National Championship. Our problem picking an MVP on the offense is there are too many standouts. It makes it tough to choose.

10seVol85_Part_Deux writes:

I like A J Johnson and Zach Rogers. Zach had a great year as the slot guy. Showed great hands, great speed and great route-running.

A J played great on both sides of the ball, and is reportedly a great leader on the field. He also scored 6 rushing TDs on 12 carries.

All that said, and despite a few failings, how can you have a QB come up just 200 yards and 2 TDs short of Peyton's all-time single season records (without the benefit of a bowl game or an SEC championship game) and not give it to him?

I'm also voting for MVP fan of the year, and that honor goes to: Gerry Op..Great job supporting UT regardless what the nega-vols were ranting about, you were truly a UT backer through thick & thin..SAL-UTE!!
