Tennessee players on facing #1 Alabama
KNOXVILLE - Freshmen Jason Croom and Tino Thomas will miss the rest of the season with shoulder injuries, Tennessee coach Derek Dooley confirmed today.
Croom, a wide receiver, underwent shoulder surgery last week. Thomas, a defensive back, is facing the prospect of surgery.
Both players are eligible for hardship waivers, commonly called medical redshirts, and won’t lose a year of eligibility. Croom, who is 6-5 and 235 pounds, has tweeted that he wants to focus on tight end next year.
Croom played in three games this year, making his debut in Week 2 against Georgia State. Thomas, a Memphis native, has not played this season.
