The Tennessee women's golf team wrapped up the fall season on Tuesday with a 12th-place finish at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio.
The Lady Vols shot 9-over-par 297 with eight birdies to finish 33-over 897. Oklahoma was first at 848, eight shots better than Texas A&M.
"We were a little more competitive out there but just did not have our A-games this week unfortunately," coach Judi Pavon said in a UT release. "Erica (Popson) played well today and Sara (Monberg) showed some grit and finished with two birdies in her last three holes. This week won't sit well for the next few months off in the off-season, but it will give us a reason to work hard to get better."
Popson shot 1-under 71 to finish in a tie for 18th at 217 and Monberg (74) tied for 41st at 225. Also for UT, AJ Newell (77) tied for 47th at 227, Chessey Thomas (75) tied for 53rd at 228 and Ashlee Pickerell (77) tied for 63rd at 234.
The Lady Vols are off until Feb. 15-7 when they return to spring action at the Mashup Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
