Tennessee offensive lineman Dallas Thomas was selected in the third round Friday by the Miami Dolphins despite an offseason shoulder injury that prevented him from doing many workouts.

Thomas, a 6-foot-5, 300 pound native of Baton Rouge, La., who played both guard and tackle in college, started the final 37 games of his college career. He sustained a shoulder injury while practicing for the Senior Bowl in Mobile.

Even so, he became the third Vol selected in this year’s draft, joining receivers Cordarrelle Patterson (first round) and Justin Hunter (second round). He was selected by the Dolphins with the 77th overall choice.

It will be hard to believe that Dooley lost to Vanderbilt and Mizz with probably 5-6 Vols selected in this year's draft. Can you say un-der-a-chieve-r?

BluezVol, I'm just a longtime fan and no expert at football. But if the best talent players don't meld together as a team then a lesser talented team that plays as a team can win. One possible explanation.

as a life long Vol/dolphin I like it :)

I think the Hart and Sunseri deal had more to do with it than the offense and Dooley..

And nobody's picked Bray so far? Shocking! I hope they all do well. So is Bray still going to school or just hanging out waiting for a magical phone call? Wonder if he has the smarts to ever figure out what a poor decision he made?

Yep, maybe he'll be the next Larry Little or Bob Kuechenberg.

OwensboroVol writes:

Looks like Bray made a terrible mistake leaving early. I don't think that He is going to be drafted at all and will have to sign a free agent contract which usually leads to no where. He could have come back for his senior year and showed the Pros that he was serious about doing the required work, but, as usual, he took the easy way and it backfired!

Yep. I hate it for the guy but you have to figure he'll just fade away as so many do. Seems like his heads never been in the right place and his skills are average at best. I just wonder who's been advising this guy?

Better than the next Jake Long.

Very true, and I should have included Harry Galbreath in my list.

Hopefully more of a Richmond Webb kinda guy

Only one left to be drafted is Bray, I think.

If he's close to Webb, he'll be a very wealthy man. That was a great o-line the fins had in the 80's. too bad they never got a great rb to help Marino.

Harry Galbreath was a late 80's draft pick, but I'm almost certain Webb came in the early 90's.

Someone will sign him to a practice squad or he will go to Canada. When practice starts and work begins he will not be able to handle it.They do not pay you to play video games. This time next year he will have been forgotten.
