Deerfield Beach, Fla., all-purpose back/cornerback Brandon Powell rescinded his verbal commitment to Tennessee on Saturday afternoon, then later that night committed to the University of Miami, the Sun-Sentinel newspaper reported.
Powell posted on his Twitter account at 7:55 p.m. Saturday, “Officially decommited from the University of Tennessee.”
At 11:14 p.m., he tweeted, “THE U !!!!!!!!!”
Powell, a three-star athlete according to 247sports, committed to the Vols in June after attending a UT camp. He said he expected to play primarily slot receiver.
