Betty Jones’ 76 years haven’t caught up with her. She’s still sharp, witty and engaged in the community she’s called home since she was a child. Born in Illinois, she moved to Michigan and went to high school in nearby South Haven. She waited tables in Saugatuck as a teenager before taking a job at the regionally famous Harris Pie Co. Six years later, she became an assistant administrator at the local hospital. Betty, like many proud parents, is her children’s best historian. She has elaborate scrapbooks recounting her son’s rise from water boy to millionaire.
