Austin Peay coach Kirby Cannon was enjoying life as an assistant coach at Central Michigan, the same place where Tennessee coach Butch Jones got his start, when an unexpected opening at Austin Peay caught his attention.

Only a few months later, Cannon will lead his Governors into Neyland Stadium on Saturday to play the Vols in what most expect to be a one-sided opener.

Cannon told the News Sentinel SportsPage that his team will be a work in progress, and that they might throw as many as 50 times against the Vols on Saturday.

Listen to his entire entire in the file embedded on this page. And listen to the News Sentinel sports crew every day from 10 a.m. on noon on The Sports Animal FM 99.1 or SportsAnimal.com.
