Tennessee hires Huebner as CFO for athletics

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee has hired Brett Huebner as its chief financial officer and senior associate athletics director.

The 36-year-old Huebner will be responsible for all financial management and business operations for Tennessee athletics. Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart said Huebner "brings a very high level of expertise and experience to a critical position within our university structure" in a university release Wednesday announcing the hiring.

Huebner has been the South Florida athletic department's chief financial officer since 2007. He also held the title of senior associate athletics director at South Florida.

Huebner, a former college baseball player at Wisconsin-Milwaukee, previously worked as assistant director of business operations for Miami's athletic department.

Huebner replaces Bill Myers, who resigned at the end of September.
