Former Tennessee assistant Justin Wilcox is expected to be named the next defensive coordinator at Southern Cal, according to report from CBS Sports' Bruce Feldman.

That would add to the recent glut of coaches for the Trojans with ties to the Vols, including Lane and Monte Kiffin, who Wilcox replaced as defensive coordinator at Tennessee, Ed Orgeron, James Cregg and Tee Martin, who quarterbacked UT to its undefeated 1998 season.

Wilcox has spent the past two seasons with new USC coach Steve Sarkisian at Washington, where his teams finished 31st and 49th in total defense in his two seasons after having been 106th the season before he got there, while UT's defense fell to 107th in total defense in 2012 under Sal Sunseri after having been 28th in the final season for Wilcox in Knoxville.

Hope he does half as well at USC as he did at Tennessee!

I wish he had stayed and Dooley had left. This guy can coach.
