there is a place near campus called booster bail bonds .

Young men making terrible choices. That is indeed sad. But sadder still is the attitude it's no big deal if their lives go down the tubes because FB pope Nick can just call up more 4 star players. But that shows poor choice on a fan's part; the kids' lives do not matter, only that they get to play for almighty Alabama... That may be saddest of all.

I would like to call you! Since you have nothing better to do than be a pitiful little Crimson TURD troll, I would like to discuss a couple of issues with you. Of course, I'm sure you are too much of a coward to post you phone number, so I'll just continue to believe you are nothing more than a dirtbag with your nose stuck up Nicky Satan's ARSE!

This could make the new Birmingham TV show, "America's Most Stupid." It will be interesting to see just how this gets handled, but almost for sure, Williams is gone. Then again, this is Alabama. Funny how no one ever heard of this "concealed gun" charge? When one of our guys gets charged with Jaywalking it's allllllllll over the news!

Calloway was also a 5* running back. The thing that bothers me the most is 90% of these kids don't belong on a college campus and aren't smart enough to pass highschool Arithmetic,English and Science yet we want them to play football. It is time to either start a farm league or make it where these kids can't get in. I don't know what I would do if this happened to my daughter or son.

Oh, give me a break pal. These four thugs have the gift of a life time laid at their feet, and this is how they decide to pay back their incredible good fortune? These are four adult men with the ability to make whatever decisions they want in life. And this is what they chose. Did you take a look at their pics? Not exactly eagle scout material. These four should be gone and never allowed back on campus. And the coach and fans should be blamed for a lack of guidance for these poor little boys you say? Maybe I'm badly missing your point.

I get why many Vol fans are ready to rub some Bama noses in their troubles considering how much grief we have gotten from their fans when our guys have screwed up. I take it as just another example of the kinds of trouble most programs have these days. And as some of you have suggested, this often happens when you are dealing with only partially-educated and domesticated guys who have grown up with a sense of entitlement because they are star athletes. This is what people are thinking about when they say they prefer guys with good character who will do what they are supposed to do rather than going with talented but possibly troubled guys who can't be counted on off the field. That is a dilemma college programs will continue to face as long as the current "win at any cost" attitude prevails.

If you think having the Power T on the football helments photoshopped to a Bog Orange Machine Pistol was 'good times' you have another think coming. That was the beginning of the slide downhill for Tennessee! We need quality athletes who are also quality individuals. Kiffin's staff bragged they didn't recruit 'choir boys' and kept it up at USC. How's that going for him and his team of uncoachable prima donnas now? With an attitude like that you can make like a Kiffen and leave.

volboy81 writes:

WHAT!!?!??!?! This just cant be true!! There must be some mistake. Everyone knows that Saban and the precious Crimson Tide are perfect in every way, so this just isnt so! There must be some mistake or misidentification on someone's part. HOW DARE anyone accuse an Alabama football player of doing anything wrong!

volboy81 writes:

PS-somehow, someway, Turd fans will blame this on Tennessee & Fulmer.

DonK37920 writes:

Saban had a lot to clean up when he got to Tuscaloosa. They had a player commit an armed robbery on campus, another player selling crack at the athletic facility and yet another player that was runnning a dog fighting website. Although I hate Bama as a team and consider them our biggest rival, I always thought Saban ran a lot cleaner program than his predecessors. Just goes to show you that we all recruit from the same cesspool, and although most of the players are good people with values, every team has their scumbags that embarrass a program and it's fans. No matter what University, these kids need to realize that they are taking someone elses donation to fund their scholarship. An Alumni took their hard earned money and funded their school's athletic fund so that they can attend school for free and play football while getting an education. It's a privilege, not an entitlement. This younger generation needs to learn this lesson ASAP! Sad thing about this is that if players like this don't get to the NFL, they either move back into their parents basement without a job or go on welfare and start sponging off taxpayers.

Thugs are thugs I dont care how many stars they have in recruiting. Remember Nukeese Richardson? All schools have them. Its hard to find a great athlete with some morals and character. Most of these young kids are from the hood where all they see is drug deals and robberies, so that is what they are used to. They think because they are high profile athletes they can do as they please, and back in the day, they did. Those bonds are pretty high, usually you have to pay 10% of the bond to get out, so these athletes, who do not have a job, and if they do its a part time job, how do you pay the $6500 and $6000 dollars to get out? You know these kids not their parents have that kind of money.......so? The NCAA seems to turn a blind eye when you are on top and winning....look at Cam Newton and Auburn. Somehow this will be swept under the rug and these thugs will get deferment and our "equal" justice system will stink once again.

It would have been a whole lot cheaper for them to rent electronics and rabbit ears in Tuscaloosa than having to post bail due to stealing electronics.

This will change in the near future when the stiffer NCAA academic eligibility rules come into play.

http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/p...

Higher acedemic standards along with the APR (Academic Progress Rating) which forces Div 1 schools to pay more attention to their athletes classwork may indeed cull some chaff. You can't just take a guy cause he can chuck a mushmelon from the middle of Pa's truck garden into a bushell basket beside the truck!

Right now almost anyone can be a 'student'/athlete. Then, these kids have five years to graduate and only have to take 3 or 4 courses a term, which a lot of them skip-see our latest hero - Patterson. Hopefully, stiffer rules across the board will cull out quite a few of those who only see themselves as riding the collegate scholy into the NFL with absolutely no effort or intention of getting a degree. If that's their attitude, screen them out.
