Tennessee vs Vanderbilt, Feb. 13, 2013
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee’s Vols spent the first two months of the season searching for their identity.
Maybe they’ve finally found it.
By beating Vanderbilt 58-46 on Wednesday night, the Vols continue to gain a little altitude in the SEC. It marked the first time this season UT has won consecutive conference games — both on the road, no less.
And with Nerlens Noel out for the season, a visit by Kentucky on Saturday doesn’t seem quite so daunting.

Biggest thing Ive noticed last 2 games is Martin has finally settled into a consistent line up instead of having to throw guys in to try and find some scoring..Stokes;Golden;McRae and Richardson all have seemed to found their roles in the offense. Now the KY game is our crucial moment to see if this team can turn the corner and finally be consistent..Because of the Noel injury all eyes are now on this game with their speculation of "what will KY do now?" How will they play?? To the media the Vols are just coincidental to the KY "circus"!!! Personally I think KY is gonna come in really fired up and playing hard; pressure defense. This is a big chance for our Vols and especially the home crowd to stick all the KY hype were the sun don't shine!!!!!! We need to dump the jekly and hyde persona of the past and come out shooting lights out from the get go if we are going to have a chance at winning.. GO VOLS!!!!!

Good point, I watched about a 7 minute non-stop action part of the game where UT was clearly in better shape than Vandy. That part of the game separated UT point wise and confidence wise.

Let's see how fast the Tennessean editors fix this one: It's "murderer's row", not "murder's row".
Climer still sucks.

GREAT WIN! The new Mobile 5 offense is working a lot better than the Mobile 1, The one player dribbling around while the other four watched was producing more turnovers than points. All five players moving around seems to work. GO VOLS!
McBee should be crossing over more while looking for the backdoor feed. I like his defensive efforts, but he should do more than positioning himself front-left waiting for a chance at a 3-pointer. Other teams have an advantage using a 5 on 4 defense, Can you imagine how long Steve Nash would have lasted in the NBA had he opted to just go front-left every trip down the floor? But, I love McBee and I know he has more talent in his pinky than I had in by whole body. However, I have trouble ignoring the obvious.
Say it ain't true Sammy, say it ain't true.

I have been saying ever since McBee first started getting significant minutes that he needed to diversify his offensive game. Even a player who is a non-shooter needs to show SOME activity to draw his share of defensive attention. That said, McBee's mere presence on the court pretty much means that SOMEBODY has to be watching him all the time, no matter where he is or what he is doing, and that player is less available to help elsewhere.

I know Slimer hated writing this article, but he did get a dig in on UT referring to UK not having Noel means UT may have a chance to win.
