KNOXVILLE, Tennessee -- Much has been written about the ambitious social media efforts of Tennessee's new football coaching staff. Fans have been fascinated and intrigued.
But I still get one persistent question: Do the coaches really do their own tweeting?
My answer: Generally, yes, I think so.

Coach Jones said he "had a guy that helped" during an interview on 3HL on 104.5 in Nashville.

I don't see how this even matters. It would be kind of silly to have someone other than the actual coach doing the "tweeting" but either way, whats the point? Unless it helps recruiting in some way, I don't think Twitter should be used at all. Im not against It but I don't care either. GBO
Let's look at what did go right in 2012 and leave the bad behind us!

104.5 The Zone is the best! I listened to it everyday when I lived In Nashville. Now Im back in Huntsville Ala-bummer. But we have a station on ESPN radio 97.7 which Is the same thing. Although I don't think we get Ms Grissoms Salads 3 hour lunch ...... but I can still get it on my radio app on my GS3 and plug that baby into my car stereo haha! GBO

Is 3HL still using Ms Grissoms Salads as their ad or sponsor? Im not sure what to call it....

Twitter is totally the way to go with recruiting these young men. They constantly have their phones in their hands, and it gives them a sense of connection and that their world matters to the rest of the world--within seconds. If a coach seems relatable and willing to communicate 'in their language,' an automatic connection is made. I personally don't use it, but just recently found out that students are blowin it up!

If it is important to the recruits, it is important to the coaches recruiting them.

Yeah I agree. If it works for recruiting then go for it! It better at least be coach Jones himself doing the tweeting.

Hey Butch Jones... where are the 4 & 5 star recruits? Where are the verbal commitments? What are you doing on the recruiting trail?
The only new verbal commitment that has been reported for UT is a solitary 3* you've Lane Kiffin'd from Cincinnatti.

They are recruiting them. We are in the top four or five for several of them. It may be another year or two before we can consistently compete with the big boys in recruiting again, though. After three losing seasons in a row, most of these kids don't have the love for UT that we do.
