Cierra Burdick will be out until at least early February after suffering a fractured right hand last Monday.Jenny Moshak, UT's associate director of sports medicine, offered the prognosis on Saturday after more evaluation of Burdick's injury. The 6-foot-2 sophomore forward, who has started 11 of 12 games this season, suffered the fracture while in the gym putting in extra work, apparently doing a defensive drill.Burdick's fracture will be re-evaluated this week. At this point, surgery is not expected to be necessary.Moshak's report corresponds with Burdick saying on Twitter last Wednesday night that she hopes to return in a month.

Cierra get well soon, and look foward to your return when you are healthy. You are a terrific representative for The University of Tennessee.
Draya, I know you are out for this season, but in the short time you played I could see what a bright future you will have as a Lady Vol.Wishing you a good and speedy recovery as well.

If Burdick gets back in early Feb. there will be enough time for her to get ready for Ky then the SEC Tournament. The rest of the team just needs to stay healthy. In the mean time, the opportunity is there for other players to get some very good experience.
I want to see that look on Andy's face Sunday when Ga gets several points behind. Lady Vols, make it happen!

Should be a great game today. Need Burdick back soon. Anyone know where to get one of 2013 Lady Vols calendars they are giving away today at the game? Can not make it to Knoxville for the game.

I agree. Her injury shouldn't interfere with her cardiovascular conditioning, so she should come back fresh when the rest of the team might be getting a little tired by the end of the season. The way they played against UGA shows me that the REST of the conference might be a LOT more "tired by the end of the season", to quote myself(;-P)!
