With a 72-57 win over Mississippi State win behind and rematch with Ole Miss ahead, Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin spoke to Knoxville media on Tuesday at his weekly press luncheon.

The Vols (9-7, 1-3) are set to travel to Oxford, Miss., on Thursday for a date with the Rebels.

In a 92-74 loss to Ole Miss (15-2, 4-0) on Jan. 9, Rebels guard Marshall Henderson poured in 32 points at Thompson-Boling Arena and added some accompanying trash talk and gestures to the crowd.

Martin was asked if his Vols remember Henderson's display.

"I hope so," he said. "The guy was scoring baskets and making plays. He's allowed to do it."

In response to Trae Golden's recent 10-point, nine-assist performance against Mississippi State as a reserve off the bench, Martin was asked whether the junior point guard is being offered an opportunity earn his starting job back.

"Well, Jordan McRae is the starting point guard right now," he said, "but I think Trae has a lot more in the tank."

More coming online and in Tuesday's News Sentinel.

Sorry about the link..KNS not allowing. At any rate, a GREAT looking Dental Assistant got fired after the dentist's wife said she was too cute.....

Maybe I should get my dentist to hire her?

Witchy,

Exactly. Speaking of getting mad..........we don't have him of course, but wouldn't it be interesting if we did have Maymon and Mr Henderson proceeded to drive into the paint with that little smirk on his face.......and there stood Maymon with a little smirk of his own...............waiting.

Ole Miss is pretty darned good this year, so let's not everyone get bent out of shape if things don't pan out well. Not writing it off yet, but it'll be tough going.

Maybe it'll have an ending like the Butler - Gonzaga game the other night. That one was an awesome game.

Back to Henderson........next year, he'll perhaps be like our trolls, 8 and 9 teeth here..........missing them, if Maymon returns to the lineup.

Witch Doctor hear its called "Inspirational-Dissatisfaction" When you get mad cause you know you could have done better and didnt and now your mad at yourself". Witch Doctor say Golden needs to drink big glasses of the stuff and go do some work. Witch Doctor say the best way to shut that guy up is to hand it to him on his own court and return the favor. Witch Doctor say this will be a whole different team next year but this team still needs to show what they are made of THIS year. Witch Doctor say he attends Ole Miss so he probably can read this stuff anyway! haha

It seemed to me the Vol front line was dominated by the physical play of Ole Miss in the first game..if you can't improve this..it will be hard to stay in the game even if Moore and/or Richardson hold Henderson down..if you know the big Ole Miss left hander is going to his left..might oughta over play him a bit..good luck...

And here I thought Mizzou would be UF's biggest challenge in the SEC. Who is this Henderson kid?

Never thought I'd see the day when the Johnny Rebs, opps I mean Ole Miss, would have a better athletic department than us. Another reminder that everybody on the payroll over there oughta be run off TONIGHT! Starting with Jimmy Cheek.

Do we have any room for a walk on right now? Someone with an attitude. Someone who wouldn't mind sitting out a game or two. I have the feeling that someone in the SEC will rudely introduce themselves to Mr. Henderson before the year is over. I will be for that introduction.

Ole Miss is shocking the college football world with their football recruiting class and I guess this is what you are talking about..I ain't ever seen anything like it..first Vandy..now Ole Miss and Miss State..never thought I'd see the day either ..but I am..

You are so right, should have happened long ago! No one with former ties to Fla or Honey Boo, Boo university aka Ala. should be at Tennessee.

Henderson of Ole Miss acted like a goon even if he did score a lot of points. I'm sure our guys won't forget his bad behavior any time soon. What I don't like is the fact that his Coach allowed it. He could have shut him up by benching him & maybe taught him some class giving him some lessons in sportsmanlike conduct..

Doesn't matter what Henderson did. He backed up his actions, much like the biggest jerk in baseball, Barry Bonds. Until somebody stops him, Henderson will show us up on thursday in his own house.

We all know who repub wants to win in this game. Klackety-klackety-klackety!! Just another fuming bum with issues, just like SevenT and 8 in a row. Instead of trolling on another team's site, the ought to be making appointments with your dentist, for some much needed bridgework. That, along with some witch hazel wipes (sorry, witchie), and they could be addressing aggravating issues on each end.

Except Ole Miss won't win back to back National Championships. I gotta see this kid. You UT fans make him sound like a very horrible person. Did you guys hate Meeks this bad after he dropped 50+ on y'all?

no, but it was nice beating florida 3 out of 4 during your back to back national championsips. the 6 in a row was nice too.

I'm sure it was, but Pearl is gone. I don't see Cuonzo doing any of that. I don't think he'll be at UT for very long. As a UF fan, even I liked Pearl's coaching style.
