Holly Warlick hasn’t mastered The Stare.

She can stomp shoe to hardwood with the best of them. Her voice cuts through the noise of the crowd. She waves her arms in much the same way she did as an All-America guard more than three decades ago.

The Stare? That’s not in her repertoire.

“That’s Pat,” she says. “Nobody could do it like Pat. I don’t even try.”

I truly expect and am seeing Holly put her on stamp on things.

Summitt was a great coach, but her last go-round was really the coup that brought in Candace Parker and Nicki Anosike. The classes after that snuggled, and mostly to me it was because of "too much of the same".

With Holly, I don't know that she will bring int eh Top Player of the Year every year, but she'll put together a good team.

I figure Holly to coach about 5-6 years max.

Well we know what you "fully expect", "am seeing","don't know", "figure" and what was "mostly to" you.
What a relief to be apprized of the state of the Lady Vols basketball program.

Can't figure why emailnodata is a holly hater. Did she insult you in some kind of way? Did she kick your dog? Do you even know her other than the same way most of us know her? Seems you display an unwarranted lack of respect for a 27-year assistant coach for an elite D1 Women's College Basketball program. A woman CHOSEN by the best, winningest coach in college basketball. Why is that, emailnodate?

I for the life of me can't figure who max is...two way conversation between you and max on Coach Warlick's time she will have at UT as ahead coach. True she probably won't pull a Mercedes every year as we see these cycle between certain schools. Glad you think she will put together good teams. All joking aside the only questionable call is putting a cap on her coaching 5-6 years. She would be how old then? Now let's get ready for the fyting irishettes!

An "article" that only states what is obvious. Climer continues as one of the absolute worst "sports writers" in the state.

Perhaps he should focus on why the Vandy women's program continues on a long slide and STILL can't beat Tennessee.

Probably hits too close to home.

"The classes after that snuggled"

Seriously?

It's a well-worn cliche that it is hard to follow a legend, but, IMHO, Holly so far is doing that about as well as anyone could. She assures continuity in the bedrock principles of the program. No one can say what the long-term future will be, but it won't be worse than the past has been if Holly has anything to say about it. Hopefully she can add a championship or two of her own by holding to those principles and adding a few touches of her own, such as you describe.

cattle man, Why do call us sheep? Is it because we follow the Lady Vols, and of course want the best for them? Is it because we don't especially enjoy arrogant negative comments about the head coach? In case you haven't noticed, this is a Lady Vols website. Certainly you have a slightly twisted interest here because you continue to show up, so try and understand why MOST comments will favor the Big Orange because we are fans, not sheep, not cattle nor any other kind of beast, just Lady Vol fans, OK?

Does it make you feel better about yourself to refer to us as 4-legged animals being led to and fro? There are websites for that problem.

Yeah, this guy has yet to learn that any comment he posts that begins with "You fools" and ends by calling people sheep or idiots is not likely to be heeded regardless of its other content. Hence, one can only conclude that his only purpose in being on here is to annoy people rather than enlighten them.

Some people only come on here to hate on the program. But this is not the program that is going to fade away like teams that were once powerhouses like LaTech, NCState , Texas, and Oklahoma. Oh and ill throw in Rutgers. Nothing at all against these teams but they lack one thing. Fan support. The lady Vols are still the cornerstone of women's bball and their fans love it. As Taber said in the article anything less than a final four is not meeting expectations. Recruits see this and they wanna play for a team with high expectations. With Kyra being our main recruiting coach expect to see the top recruits coming here year round.

Is it just me, or do other posters think it strange for one to frequent a site for the purpose of antagonizing loyal fans of said website? What kind of person does that?

I will go out of my way to avoid places/situations that I don't like. Do normal people go looking to rub their own nose in putrid stuff. I like Big Bang Theory. It makes me laugh out loud. I need to laugh out loud. It is very therapeutic to laugh out loud. Those characters accuse each other of "smelling their own armpits." It's funny when they say it... cattle man never says anything funny, just condescending. reminds me of mike from connecticut. Has mike retired to his home on the range, smelling his own armpits?

It's the same Dumb Little Sxxx that used to eat buggers out of his nose just to gross people out, and to get attention. The heck with him.

Let's talk basketball. Does anyone have access to info of such sites as Inside T--------? that might have updates on the recovery of future Lady Vols plyers like Jannah Tucker? We are all excited about Tucker, Reynolds and Russell coming and joining an already good team. Just haven't seen any easily available info on what is happening with them.

Russell continues to impress even though her team has some loses this year( they lost by 3 to Norcross HS and #3 Diamond Shields) but she's the real deal. Haven't heard anything from the other two. Candace Parker took time out of her very busy schedule playing overseas to visit Coach Summit and Tyler out her home and to play on the scout team at practice. Hopefully our post players got a lot out of the practice. A true VFL!

Speaking of NC State, I am sorry to report that Kellie Jolly Harper's team is only about .500 on the season so far. I don't know any details about injuries or anything else that is holding them back, but they clearly aren't making up any ground on UNC or Duke. The Lady 'Pack is about as far behind those two programs as their men's team was a few years ago. Kellie was one many of us, including me, saw as a worthy successor to the LV job some day. She still may be, but her star is not, unfortunately, shining quite as brightly as it was a few years ago. I wish her luck. She seems in every other respect to be a great example of the kind of person the LV program has turned out over the years.
