Tennessee had four players named to the SEC preseason softball team.
Senior third baseman Raven Chavanne, senior second baseman Lauren Gibson, junior shortstop Madison Shipman and senior outfielder Kat Dotson gave the Lady Vols the most selections by any school.
The Lady Vols are the ranked No. 5 in the preseason ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll.
Defending national champion Alabama took the top spot with 13 first-place votes. Oklahoma was No. 2 and received the remaining seven first-place votes. California and Arizona State took No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.

Interesting, since no one cares, that Lady Vol schedule doesn't have us playing every SEC team. No kats, dores, miss. st,gamecocks. Expansion teams are there.

You are the real joke! Since the stands are always filled when they play, even on the road I guess there are many who care. Do you not watch espn? The Lady Vols are on several times.

True, but Vanderbilt isn't on anybody's schedule because they don't have a softball program.

Somehow that amazing factoid slipped by my not so attentive mind with respect to who does and who doesn't. Thanks! Do they have a badminton team instead? Curious what sport they carry instead of softball.
