Wide receiver Ryan Jenkins eager to join Vols

KNOXVILLE — The extra month of waiting felt much longer for Ryan Jenkins.

Finally, the young wide receiver will head to the University of Tennessee and begin his football career.

With the second session of summer school slated to begin Monday, the son of former Volunteers defensive back Lee Jenkins will arrive on campus today, along with defensive end Kendal Vickers, nearly a month later than the rest of Tennessee's 2013 signing class.

The delay probably created more anxiety for the 5-foot-11, 180-pound Jenkins, a Marietta (Ga.) Lassiter High School graduate who flipped from Clemson to Tennessee in January. That was nearly four months before Vickers, a former South Carolina commitment, joined the Vols' class in late May.

Looks like Brett has read one too many Jeffy posts.... boring, repetitive.....

Instead of always harkening back to the game in 2012, how about changing it up now and then and celebrating one of Vandy's other victories over Tennessee?

Oh, yeah... that is a problem for you, isn't it?

Yep. Suggest removal and do not reply, amigos. If my hands could reach, I'd smack each and every one of my fellow Vol fans on the back of their noggins for honoring these a-holes by reposting their crapolla and further annoying the more sensible ones of us.

On a Vol note: I've heard this kid is lightning quick. UT'll have more positives than a lot of people think. GBO!

It seems that Jones is unusually bright. He's put together a staff of assistants who've been on the same page from the get-go. They're all solid recruiters and they all seem to love their jobs (and job security); selling the University of Tennessee as a storied institution with a history of power-house football....along with world-class facilities....and all packaged smartly makes for a notable start. Apparently CBJ's charisma (or whatever it is he has) has empowered his committed high schoolers, his current players and numerous ex-Vols to communicate positively with one another and to flat out sell UT football. These guys are believers! Jones and his crew may well out-coach Oregon's crew and surprise a lot of other people, too......not saying UT'll win 'em all (they won't), just that they'll make their mark out there. The Big Orange will play with poise and enthusiasm......and the memorable mental impression of those great big orange T's on those white helmets will be revitalized with "Rocky Top" being played and sung by rabid UT fans over and over and over again in stadiums and living rooms all over the USA. The recruiting numbers, simply on their own, reveal the effectiveness of CBJ's overall approach. That's not just luck, sports fans. GBO!

Vandy fans talking trash is like Hernandez teaching classes in morality.

Come back when Vandy has won an SEC title... or at least made it to the SEC title game. Well... maybe that's not fair, cause then we'll never see you again.

I am wondering why any fan of Vandy, Fla, Bama or any other school would peruse the Volunteer site? Could it be because they are closet Vol fans? They are either Vol fans just bitter at the program at this time or they are pathetic lazy people who don't work and want someone to give them attention......I for one, have never nor will I ever go to another school's site for I could care less about other school's fans opinions.
I guess some people are jealous of the history of the mighty Vols. One day soon the Vols will be back at the top and the other schools will be envious as they have been in the past.

Actually, bdb, similar sociopaths attempt to troll other schools' sites, too. The fundamental difference is their host cities' newspapers have the fortitude to keep them off.... never being read by anyone. I know the Columbia, SC paper keeps them off in deference to the game chickens. The same's true in Tuscaloosa, Baton Rouge, Athens and in most other towns (not in Gainesville, though). This KNS crew is either too lazy or.....most likely.....simply prone to allow their junk in order to claim a higher response rating. Either way, the KNS can control this far better than it's done, but they've chosen, instead, to do otherwise. Once again: Suggest removal and then totally ignore these miscreants....and even go as far as to suggest removal to the Vol fans responding with their self acclaimed clever retorts.....and do it enough times.......and the problem will eventually go away. GBO!

I'm concerned that these guys my not remain eligible; based on the fact of having to take "math" over. Come on guys College Algebra is going to be tough if you don;t have the math background!!!! Hope they can to get campus and make it all work; the Vols had all the help they can get. Go Vols!!!!!

sameolvolalum writes:

It'll be OK, '53. Don't you figure they're workin' 'em hard in Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa, etc.? They require algebra there, too. The more you load in the chute.....the more will have to come out at the bottom. It evens out. Math, you know. Plus; with the #1 Rivals recruiting class in July, NSD will undoubtedly find UT at least in the top 10 or so.....at least.....so the Big Orange machine will have a winning formula for at least a while.

You refuse to take ownership of you negative comments by adding 'just saying'. You're only the messenger, right? By adding your cute little tag line, you're not responsible for the comment at all, in fact it conveniently absolves you from any ownership of the statement. Why don't you just be a man and say what you mean. Huh, cause you're a coward?

Street & Smith or the Sporting News has much better information top to bottom IMO. But, i did hear good things about Jenkins, we also have a great athlete in Croom. The man will shine this year.

Seventeen, brett, toddygirl, and jeffy are all cowards. That's the only view you can take of an internet "tough guy" (Blowhard) that hides behind a keyboard soley to get a response, in order to feed an attention disorder. These TROLLS/POSERS are one of two things. Post count raisers, or troubled individuals with too much time, and too little attention at home. These are the ONLY two reasons anybody would waste their time on the site of a team they claim to hate.

That's right Naval. I'm gonna try to avoid these jokers although it's very tempting to pile on. I'm thinking its gonna be easier to do if Coach Butch can deliver some quality wins. Won't be long. Go Volunteers!

Vol 43, Brett Roberts update: His ex girl friend Amy put him on the road, so he can no longer drive her gold commode door corvette. He now has found another he can mooch off from and her name is Lisa Mc------. He likes to drive her burgundy jaguar and play the play boy role. He has even got her to put up money for him on an older yacht. He is keeping it at Maderia Beach on Gulf Blvd in St. Pete, Fl. They are so deeply in love, that Lisa's head is swimming with this new pos. She will dump him like Amy as soon as she realizes what he is all about.

His son T---- is a sharp looking kid and loves the big orange and has attended school at UT. He is out of waiting tables in the bar, since Amy put him on the road. Lisa is an accountant, so the money is good for now, until she realizes what a dumb move she has made putting up the money for this pos.

Brett, is one and the same as all of these trolls on here and keeps changing his screen names. To ignore him would be the best, but some fans keep responding to his negative posts.

Thanks for the update, lineman. Man wut a loser. Good to see he's getting what he deserves. I've seen enough of his rhetoric to recognize it. Always lengthy and pointless. Fat lower part of the anatomy too. It usually touches the toilet seat when you do no. 2. See if this passes the grammar police.

I know I almost developed a total body cramp, followed by a heart attack, when I read that! I ran track and played basketball in HS and thought I was in pretty good shape at one time, but I'm not sure I would have lasted through that at any time in my life! And I think there was more to the total workout than that. I'm in awe. Shouldn't be too many 4th-quarter collapses this year. Let's hope they are good enough for the 4th quarters to matter.
