Eric Fisher was a 2 star that Butch Jones recruited to Central Michigan. One of only two schools who recruited him.

Oh yeah, he was drafter #1 by the Kansas City Chiefs in this year's draft. Maybe Butch does recognize talent.

Exactly. Coach 'em up Jones.

That said? A few 4 and 5 *s would probably have a more immediate impact. But this year we'll have good to great linemen. Probably we'll keep some of those for year after as well. It's been proven though that stars are only as good as their performance on the field.
GO VOLS!!

Chomper/cubicle child? Thought we already celebrated your 9th birthday and was it so fine? Rising Senior with a season to play...numbers go up or numbers go down.........chompers play Louisville where we are all expecting Sir William and his charge to put a whooping the Cardinals....so remember "pride comes before the fall" that is foolish pride......welcome young man if you choose to honor your commitment next February.

its said that ESPN hates us soooo much that they're recruiting annalist suck...they never grade anyone or any team right unless its an obvious thing like Clowney...i love Scout bc though they're tough i fell their ratings are more accurate and when u get graded high you feel it was earned...#1 on Scout...#1 on Rivals...#2 on 247 (until this weekend is over then #1)....but now we bumped up to 5 on ESPN...somethings missing here

Perhaps that's why he chose UT, Muskrat's high opinion of himself and the delusion that UF only recruits & signs 4 or 5* athletes..

You might want to check the current recruiting rankings. Look near the top. Like the very top.

P.S. You won't see your Muskrat's team there.

Yeah, I hate to disparage the looks of any loving mother's son, but this kid looks like a bit of a schlub in the picture at the top. Maybe he will surprise me; guys with remarkably diverse body types and builds can be athletic.

I understand that there are posters (referred to as trolls) who pretend to be fans of other schools, and spend all their time on a UT sports site trying to get attention. orangecountyvols writes:

Volistic,

You nailed it. Oh, and BTW...........a guy's looks in a photograph are a poor measuring stick to what he'll do on the field.

We'll go with the opinion the Vol's coaches have of these guys they're recruiting.

volistic writes:

Ummm, I don't know how to explain this to you, but when someone says you have nowhere to go but down, well... you see, that's a compliment. That means you're at the top. If you have nowhere to go but up... that means you're on the bottom. It's really not that complicated.

it makes me ask the question: are there any Vols that troll other team's sites? i would hope not. surely we have more class than that...

an interesting point that i have for you, and anyone else that cares to read what i post: i was just reading rival.com, and, well, i'll just copy and paste it (keeping in mind that Tennessee is currently at #1):

Extrapolating the data points for this class, Tennessee has nowhere to go but down as the season moves on. If no team from outside of the current configuration of the Top 25 makes a major move, the Vols should be able to finish in the No. 10 spot. The numbers say that if the program does not add any more valuable commits and closes with just the 2,095 points that is currently has that would figure for a No. 14 finish. The math also indicates that at least eight teams from outside the Top 25 will make a run as the recruiting period closes. Therefore, it would not be a shock to see Tennessee as high as No. 8 but as low as No. 14, even if it adds another four-star or two.

so, in a nutshell, UT should have a top 10 class, at least. and, UT is on the way back...

go vols!

USAF,

That was pretty accurate friend. The Franklin fathead is right next to his Pillsbury dough boy self portrait.

That is Rivals. 247 Sports, ESPN, and others are different. Lots will change by signing day for everybody. Certainly it is a big improvement for Tennessee over the past few years. Many of the very elite prospects hold off to check more programs and many times to get TV exposure such as the Under Armour and US Army games.

Well, our "6th choice" is currently out-recruiting CandyLand.

Plus, I find humorous that you conveniently forget that Franklin was Vandy’s 4th choice for head coach. Vandy was denied by Golden, Coker, and Malzahn before they settled on Franklin. What’s really funny is that Malzahn rejected Vandy for less money with the mighty Arkansas State Red Wolves! I guess he saw more promise there until a real SEC job became available. When Franklin leaves for a better gig, CandyLand will fall from mediocrity back to their rightful place in the cellar.

Commodore 4!!! Yank ‘er down!!!

A lame attempt at levity. You gotta say that guy didn't look like a bundle of dynamite in that picture. He looks like one of those guys who never really develop a "ripped" look but are immensely strong. Some guys who are thick around the middle still have quick feet. I was pinging off of BiVolarBeare's remark about how everybody was saying that Butch needed to pick up some "big uglies", and the next thing you know, this kid commits, and he is, well, kinda ugly, though I guess tastes may vary. Got nothing at all against the kid. I hope he is a player. I also hope he has a sense of humor about his looks(;-P)! Or at least is forgiving toward those who comment on his looks(;-D)!

Might be good to get after JC linemen...offense and defense..recruiting rankings look good..line prospects don't..all appear to be projects..

Based on the beat down Louisville handed your boys 3 stars is all you need.

Perhaps 3-4 years on the OL will "harden" the lad's look a bit.
