To win his first singles title on the ITF Futures Circuit, Tennessee junior Mikelis Libietis had to go through the best.

The reigning SEC Player of the Year did just that by beating top-seeded Vladimir Ivanov 6-7 (2), 7-6 (3), 7-6 (7) in the finals of the Saaremaa Open on Saturday in Kuressaare, Estonia.

Libietis, unseeded in the event, beat No. 2 seed Mathias Bourgue in straight sets in the semifinals. He also beat sixth-seeded Ivan Anikanov in the second round.

Libietis will move into the top 900 in the ATP World Rankings for the first time in his career.
