Former Tennessee graduate assistant Brooks Savage has joined new men’s basketball coach Will Wade’s staff at Chattanooga.
Savage, a 2008 UT graduate and one-time member of former coach Bruce Pearl’s staff, will serve as director of basketball operations.
Savage heads to the Mocs following one season as an assistant at Presbyterian College.
Savage spent two seasons as a graduate assistant for the Vols, earning his master’s degree in sports management in 2010.
Savage was student assistant at UT for three season (2006-08).
During his time at UT, Savage helped create “OUTLIVE — Tennessee Fights to Beat Cancer,” following Chris Lofton’s battle with cancer during the 2008 season. The initiative raised nearly $500,000 in three years.
“Brooks is a great fit for us,” Wade said in a school release. “He is a high-energy guy with varied experiences on the bench. We are excited to have him on our staff.”
Wade, a former assistant at Virginia Commonwealth, was hired to coach Chattanooga on May 13.
