College World Series finalist Mississippi State returns to Tennessee’s baseball schedule in 2014 as the Vols rotate SEC West opponents.

The Bulldogs, Auburn and LSU come back on the schedule, replacing Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Arkansas.

The Vols open the SEC season at Missouri on March 14-16.

The home series are: Auburn (March 21-23); Vanderbilt (April 4-6); Alabama (April 18-20); Kentucky (May 2-4) and Florida (May 15-17).

The away series are: Missouri; South Carolina (March 28-30); Georgia (April 11-13); LSU (April 25-27); Mississippi State (May 9-100).

The non-conference schedule will be revealed at a later date.

if the cws is any indication, the dogs are not that big a deal. 'cept they've got that collection of stupid looking white hats they were modeling on espn before ucla handed them their butts in the first game.

That's one of the stupidest posts I've read in a long time. That's like getting a non-conference, away game against the loser of the BCS championship game (with the playoff) and saying they're no big deal because they lost. Or saying the same thing about the loser of the NCAA basketball tournament championship game. Silly.

Unlike in football we should never run from any team just to make our schedule look better which our former AD did(which didn't work by the way) If you don't play them you can't beat them!

any team that's frightened of a team that managed to squeeze out one run in eighteen innings ought to switch to badminton racquets. my point was that if the dogs had spent less time goofing off and more time tending to business (as the bruins obviously did), likely they wouldn't have been embarrassed the way they were.

And what does any of that have to do with the hats they wear?

I'll have to admit.. your first post was kinda stupid.

It doesn't matter how good or how bad Miss State is.. if Tennessee doesn't have its act together with good hitting, good defense, good coverage and a wind shift to carry their hits farther next year, Karns could beat them on the diamond.

This is CDS's year of reckoning. If they have another losing or subpar season, he deserves the gate. Doesn't matter what the other team is wearing (^$%#$@*&^!)

As I've said, CDS needs to stop recruiting Farragut and the so-so teams around ET, and offer power hitters in other states the chance to play RIGHT NOW.

Clock's tickin'.

Stupid Post!

I have been out of town for 2 weeks. My neighbor tells me last night that one of the UT assistant baseball coaches quit. Any truth to this? I didn't see anything about it.
