Tennessee has hired Ike Brown as assistant football strength coach.
Brown, who played at Central Michigan under new coach Butch Jones, has spent the past four seasons playing for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League.
Brown started his career as a running back at Central Michigan but was moved to safety as a sophomore and then to linebacker as a junior.
He was signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons in 2008.
Meanwhile, Joe Bernardi, who had been a quality control assistant, has joined Oregon as a graduate assistant.
Bernardi worked with the offensive line for the past two seasons following the completion of his collegiate career as a four-year starting center at Fresno State in 2010.

I'm sensing a trend here regarding Cincinnati. If you were now living in Hebron, Kentucky (aka the Cincy airport which is in Kentucky).. would you still have a chance to coach at Tennessee??

If any one out there has ever put a staff together, you know that you hire people you've worked with before and know you can trust and depend on.
If any one out there has ever put a major collegiate football staff together, I hightly doubt you would be trolling this site.
It's very easy to armchair coach and second guess Coach Jones' decisions from the privacy of your basement.

Isn't this an assistant strength coach? It is what it is, let it play out a bit before we cry the sky is falling. It very well may, but ain't a lot we can do about it now. Give the hires some time before we pick them apart.

agreed and I do not believe that it is necessarily on coach jones I feel the administration is hindering UT athletics. but that is another story.

EXACTLY!!! i mean, how do we know that this is a good hire? how do we know that it's NOT a good hire? how do we know if any of his hires are good or not?? all we can do is trust and back coach jones. after all, he is surrounding himself with what has already worked. and, worked out well. let's give the ENTIRE STAFF a chance, especially since they haven't even laced 'em up yet! jeez. lol. go vols!!!

I've never heard of anyone complaining about an ASSISSTANT strength coach from any other fan base in my life. Is this what our fan base has become? A bunch of judging know-it-all whiners? Bad look Vol fans. Probably "trolls" anyways using mommys computer. Get real, get a life, rep YOUR squad, and go Vols!
