The Tennessee women’s golf team is in seventh place heading into Sunday’s final round of the Darius Rucker Invitational at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head, S.C.
The Lady Vols are 30-over after two days for a total of 598 and are 20 strokes back of tournament leader Vanderbilt.
Tennessee head coach Judi Pavon described assessed the way her athletes competed on Saturday.
“We were hanging in there pretty well most of the round, but didn’t have the finish we hoped for,” Pavon said. “We are still in position to have a good tournament with a solid round tomorrow,”
Senior Erica Popson is tied for seventh as an individual after an even-par 71 Saturday to stay at three-over for the tournament.
Junior Chessey Thomas is at eight over and tied for 26th.
Tennessee is paired with Central Florida and Virginia for a 9:30 a.m. start in Sunday’s final round.
