Tennessee’s women’s golf team finished in a tie for eighth at the Darius Rucker Invitational in Hilton Head, S.C. on Sunday
The Lady Vols shot a 20-over 304 on the final day to finish with a 902 for the tournament and were 26-strokes back of tournament winner Alabama.
“Today was disappointing,” coach Judi Pavon said. “We had great weather and played about 12 holes pretty well, but just lost focus toward the end of the day, lost some shots and let a couple teams come in and beat or tie us.”
Senior Erica Popson led the Lady Vols and finished in the top-10 individually for the fourth time this season with a four-over 217.
“Erica played well and had another top-10 finish,” Pavon said. “We need some more short game work and need to be a little tougher on the course.”
