Tennessee Vols specialists practice with pressure

KNOXVILLE -- Butch Jones is bringing new offensive and defensive systems to Tennessee as the Volunteers' new football coach.

The routine is changing for the team's specialists, too.

"Surprisingly, quite a few things have changed," rising senior kicker Michael Palardy said wryly Tuesday morning.

Some have changed more than others.

Palardy's performance has been nothing short of disgraceful. And what's worse is that he has to be coddled and cajoled because, as horrid as he is, he's the best we've got, evidently. That's mind-boggling that, at a university of our stature, we can't find a guy who can reliably kick a 40 yd. field goal.

I can't think of anything more distracting than your coach putting his finger in your ear hole. I have to admit that was funny. G.B.O.!!!

Morons didn't include his 5 missed X-points and his 5 Kick Offs out of bounds! Most of them coming in critical situations....Palardy is a great example of Dooleys's acceptance of sub standard SEC (heck, D-1, D-2,etc.)performances....or his inability to recognize or evaluate!

Well u jus get out thar an do better ur own self!

A distinctively disgraceful display of displeasure by a Tennessee fan disposed to dissing the program.

While I am glad that CBJ is putting these guys in pressure situations to help them get better because in all honesty they need it. Our kicking game has to improve and while palardy is partially to blame, CDD should carry most of the blame. Our team has an energy it hasn't had in years and all of the players are not only hungry and eager to win but to get better and that in and of itself speaks volumes. Our kicking game will get a lot better and CBJ and his staff has this team on the right track.

Actually, I'm pretty supportive of the program and the players. But this guy is in a class by himself. He has had chance after chance after chance, and he simply fails to get the job done. He had the skills to do the job in high school, and now he suddenly forgets everything he's supposed to do once he gets to college? The problem is most likely between his ears, and that's solely on him to fix it. And, while he's trying to fix it, a university of our size ought to be able to find somebody else to kick the football with a minimal amount of dependability.

Now, if you want to defend his performance, go for it.
