KNOXVILLE — Though he's a 6-foot-6, 323-pound offensive tackle, Ja'Wuan James exudes an unassuming personality.

With different moments from his Tennessee career in mind, the Volunteers' senior has his eye on becoming a leader in his unit's meeting room, the huddle with the other 10 offensive players and for his entire team.

Some of his closest teammates will tell you James is anything but quiet, yet for the Vols' right tackle, it's simply about speaking up more consistently.

"[It's] probably talking a lot more," he said after one spring practice last month. "I've never really been one to talk and yell out and correct somebody and stuff like that in the meeting room or whatever, but I feel like that's where I've stepped up a lot. I feel like [it's] talking, letting people know when they've messed up, letting people know they need to pick it up and letting people know when they did a good job as well.

Hey, Orlando Brown just announced that he's a Vol so the tradition of excellent (and big!) OL continues. After signing several good skill guys, congratulations to CBJ and staff for now bringing in "the big uglies"!

This kid is a very high three star prospect that is knocking on the Four Star rating

Orlando Brown, 6-7.5/345, Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge – You’ve likely heard the name even if you’re not familiar with recruiting circles. Brown is the son of the late Orlando Brown Sr. who played 12 years in the NFL for the Browns and the Ravens. His son has no-doubt NFL potential but he’s a long way from being there. At 6-7/5 and 345 pounds, Brown has a body that college coaches claw to work with but his feet haven’t caught up to him quite yet. When they do – and they will – watch out.

+1 and +1

Oh will he ever keep it up! Remember his presser after he signed this years' class? He was asked why he didn't sign all of the available scholarships and his reply was something like "We don't sign just to fill a scholarship, we sign the best fit to our needs and if it isn't there, we don't sign"

So this year he has an accurate reflection of what we need, has had time to build relationship with those he does want and is reeling them in.

Last year the class ranked a little lower based on fewer signees, this years' class has 5 extra scholarships to sign which in itself will give a bump....so..#1 ranked class in the nation is not out of reach!

Go Team #117.

Butch could theoretically sign up to 31 players if he manages to stay under the 85 scholarship limit that is.

Good to hear Ja'Wuan James is stepping up to be a leader, that is something that has been sorely missed for the last 2-3 years. As for recruiting, CBJ is getting the job done. Just imagine what the Vols will look like in 2014. The team will be very young, but with tons of potential. When that team gets a couple of years of playing time and experience, The entire world of college football better watch out. Greatness is coming to Tennessee! G.B.O.!!!

Typical Bammer. No class at all. No wonder they displayed that trophy at a Walmart. I guess the local trailer parks were already booked.

I'd say he's pretty happy not having to smell the Bama stench everyday. Don't you have a sister or cousin to chase?
