GVX Audio: Evan Woodbery on the Vols
Auburn has one of the nation's strongest running attacks and a mobile quarterback, too, which could present big problems for Tennessee's struggling defense.
The Vols (4-5, 1-4 SEC) play No. 7 Auburn (8-1, 4-1) on Saturday at Neyland Stadium (TV: ESPN, noon).
"I really think this is a tough match-up for Tennessee because some of Tennessee's weaknesses fit right in with some of Auburn's strengths," said News Sentinel football beat writer Evan Woodbery on Monday's News Sentinel Sports Page.
"But I do think that if (Tennessee) plays a more conservative, mistake-free game on offense, they can hang around and make it a four-quarter game in a way they wouldn't be able to do against a more explosive offense. They can try to extend the game and hang around and make it interesting. That was the formula for Georgia and South Carolina. They played mistake-free and took advantage of some of miscues and misfortunes by the other team."
