So much for the report that Jatarie White was going to commit on 11/15. At least A'ja Wilson is still on the board so maybe we have a chance to land her.

Kinda disappointed but not surprised about White. This could be a very pivotal game for recruiting to get Aja Wilson. I feel we are a strong top three for her. Very interesting she picked SC . I wonder if Dawn is trying to build a little 'dreamteam' of her own . She's recruiting Aja hard too.

I hope the Lady Vols don't come out scared and tentative like they have in their last two road games (Louisville and MTSU) or they will have a lot of problems. Holly needs to get that fixed. You need to have a sky high, we are going to whip you mentality, going into the game. From the comments that Holly made after the Louisville game (last year) I thought she had the problem solved.

The early season is going to be important for all teams going forward. The new rules go against what nearly every coach at every level has been teaching for their whole careers. The players' reflexes have been honed under the philosophy of playing just as physical as possible at every position. Everybody is going to be feeling their way through this process, especially including the refs. That could well be a major reason for any tentativeness such as was mentioned above.

As for White going to USC, everybody had to know that Dawn Staley was going to turn SC into a powerhouse or die trying. I'm sure the LVs will get their share of top-ranked players as they always do. The good thing is that they won't need major reinforcements for at least another year after this season. IIRC, though I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, Simmons and Massengale are the only players they need to replace next year, and ready replacements are already on board; Carter, Reynolds, and possibly Tucker should fill in nicely.

Simmons will be the only player gone after this year. She is the lone senior on the squad. At least three recruits committed as of now.

Thanks. I realized I was wrong about Massengale minutes after posting that. It just seems like she has been here four years! As long as everybody stays healthy and committed, the LVs should be really good this year and even better next year. Also, I will feel a lot better about them with 12 talented scholarship players, or maybe 13 if Tucker plays next year, than I do right now with only 10.
