Excellent article couldn't have said it better myself. I have always thought that Carter should be starting alongside Ariel Massingale. I think they make a great combination. Simmons should be the 6th man. I absolutely love Massengale and Carters game.

Carter is already my favorite. She has about as quick feet and hands as any female athlete as I have ever seen. Moreover, she knows how to effectively use them.

However, almost as much as her athletic skill, I appreciate her joie de basketball. Her joy in playing is so apparent with the dimples that are exhibited in her smile while playing.

not as informed on lady vols as most. how do you think simmons would react to not starting? does she have the mental toughness? I know she is a streaky shooter.

I thought they played really well in spurts. When the game became a game of running and turnovers most any coach would use a timeout to make her point, but not us. To be one of the top coaches, it is more than x's and o's you need to be able to manage the game from the bench and be more VOCAL with players as well as the ref's. Just win one game at a time, and with the players and bench we have we should never slow down.

Can't say enough about how much better Massengale looks this year! She looks quicker, she looks confident shooting the ball, and she is handling it without the occasional recklessness she showed in the past. And what a revelation Carter has been! I'm thinking the LVs might have made the Final Four last year if she had been able to play. The only thing that can stop them this year is major injury.

I do wonder somewhat about Meighan's mental state right now. She seems to put an awful lot of pressure on herself, and seems to have reverted to the "twitchy" shooting form she had her first year or so. RELAX, Meighan! You're a potential superstar! Just let it happen, don't force it.
