GVX Audio: Cuonzo Martin
"I think the things we wanted to do going into that game, try to limit the starters to about 20 minutes especially Jeronne and Jarnelle, we were able to do that," Martin said. "And if we had our way we wouldn't have played those guys in the second half, not to take anything away from the Citadel, but just to get those guys, those young guys, those guys on the bench some minutes, even if it was a four guard line up. So I think we have got better. We have a solid 7-8 guys, we have to get 9 strong guys you can count on on a consistent basis."
GVX Audio: Vanderbilt play by play caller Joe Fisher
In the week leading up to the in-state match-up against Vanderbilt, Joe Fisher stops by to talk about how James Franklin will prepare the team for the game.
"One of his theories to success is to really try to treat each preparation for each game the same as possible. That's a lot easier to say than to do, obviously. That has kind of been his mantra since the beginning. I also get what he means in the concept of a rivalry being more of a rivalry if its not been so one sided. Thats part of his message too. I don't think it's not any issue of a lack of respect for the in state meetings and the history, I think he just feels like Vanderbilt needs to more of it's part to get back up and make this much more of a competitive series," Fisher said.
