Tennessee's 'Smokey' gray uniforms have caused a positive buzz with recruits, according to GoVols247 recruiting analyst Ryan Callahan.

"All the feedback I've received on it has been positive," Callahan said on Wednesday's News Sentinel Sports Page radio show. "While it's not likely to be the difference in whether a prospect picks a school or not, it might be something that causes a kid to take another look at the team."

As for the quarterback situation, Callahan continues to believe the Vols haven't expanded their focus beyond North Carolina State commitment Jalan McClendon.

"I think Tennessee still has a real shot with him. If they could get him to campus, that could get interesting," Callahan said. "I think they're content to focus on him and if that doesn't work out, concentrate on 2015 quarterbacks."

That's what I would do if I was Butch. Don't show all your cards on the initial uniform reveal. Go for shock and awe.

Black Carbon fiber design with Orange Power "T" with slight White Trim. Witch Doctor say that would be special. Witch Doctor say bring on the shock and awe! lol.

For the gray ensemble, a gray hat is a must.

would have been better if it had be a game time surprise.....and a matching hat would be radical...and that's not a bad thing in and of itself...Bonzai Vol

...and i would have waited till later in the season (the auburn game perhaps) to wear the smokey uniform. but, maybe coach jones is thinking that this'll be that extra boost that the team needs to beat a top 10 ranked team, and maybe energize the team to play better, lasting the rest of the season...

go vols.
