Mike Strange

Finally. It took more than a month, but the Butch Jones era gets a game in Neyland Stadium that really matters.

Open articles and posts? Nice experiment.

I wonder how much Bray had on GA that inspired him to throw the game. Apparently he needed money to support his off the field antics.

Wouldn't it be nice if Jones got his signature win against GA and Mark Richt.....stranger things....

Georgia is obviously more talented. That is the reality of hiring the worst UT coach in it's history who couldn't coach, didn't recruit, and blamed everyone but himself.

My fears about Jones still remain. He has proven to be a solid coach but nothing spectacular. The Oregon loss should never have been that bad. The defense took correct angles but only went laterally instead of forward at the correct angles. A championship coach would have corrected that after the duck's first touchdown. Jones never did.

You can take angles and move up the field at the same time. I dumbed it down as much as i could for you. See, laterally means across, not forward. Hope that helps you. Sadly, it probably didn't.

Since KNS has apparently reopened the gates to the riff-raff, is it possible that those of us who have been paying for access might NOW get GoVols247? Nah, probably not. Do we still have to pay for our continued access to GVX? Yeah, probably so; this move seems to have been about as poorly thought-through as the original jump to pay-site status.

On topic, it is time for the Vols to demonstrate whether or not they can play above their presumed talent level. Everybody is capable of doing more than they think they can, but they first have to believe it is possible.

CBJ often speaks of "eye-control". Part of that is surely the self-discipline to focus on the fairly limited things right in front of you that you can control, to know where those things belong in the context of where you want to go, and then to do those little things, knowing that minor successes in doing those things will lead eventually to where you want to go.

You can't let OTHER little things that you can't control anyway distract you from what you know you have to do FIRST. Everything happens in its time; just make sure you are USING that time to your best advantage. GO VOLS!!! GO CBJ!!!

The only things people have consistently paid for online: Internet access, products, services, and porn. Not content, at least not content that features mediocre writing and no editing.

By the way, just ask Fulmer and Dooley which game "matters" most -- and they'll tell you it's the one you lose.

Do SEC games "matter" more than non-conference games? I guess so, but lose to Western Kentucky or South Alabama and see how the fans and media react.

From 20 yards away, take a kid who runs a 5.3 - 40 and another who runs a 4.2 - 40 and tell me who wins- regardless of the angle. Your arm chair coaching defies logic and reason.

...someone once said (and it's burned into my head now...) that "it'll take a while to teach the coach dooley out of these players". or, unteach what dooley "taught" them. it's gonna take time...

be patient, Vols fans...

go vols!

I cannot agree with you more..win or lose..it is time for the Vols to play above their presumed talent level..whatever that is ..my friends I watch the games with are all saying the same..it's going to take time..I like Jones..but ..there has been no indication thus far that coaching is making a difference in the way this team is playing..the O line has gotten worse..still problems with senseless penalties..the holder gets his hand in the way of the ball..first time I ever saw that..receivers can't get open and when they do they drop too many..QB misses too many wide open passes..it is time for this team to show improvement that can be attributed to coaching..win or lose..this is not asking much...

If they go back to the old way of access..I hope they do a better job of monitoring comments..and respond better to suggest removal when the comment is clearly a violation of the agreement of use..such as political garbage..

These next three games are crucial to hold on to commitments. Being competitive is what recruits are looking for.

I feel your pain. Did get 2 months for the price of 1. So be it.

You can spin it any way you want. Gus Malzahn has done a much better job than Jones this year. At the end of the LSU game Auburn was still coming. We could have played 100 quarters against Florida and Oregon and still not won. He has done an average job soo far.

I told everyone before the season, we have no idea if this man can bring a championship to UT. He has been solid thus far, but far short of championship quality.

Don't know what happened with KNS but let the good times roll.

IMO, this game is winnable. Georgia had a hard hitting pivotal game last week that has to be still felt this week. We are at home for 1st SEC game. Fan support high. 2 of our coaching staff spent long time on other sideline and know tendencies. Remember, this is college football and emotion plays a significant part.

Their talent exceeds ours due to the 2 lost classes by the Lame experiment. However, since now it has been proven that justice can exist in this world (not many more appropriate ways have been demonstrated than Lame being taken off the bus at the airport in the early hours of Sunday morning and being told his services were no longer required at his "dream" job), like to think that the icing on that cake could come at the end of this week by VOLS cementing the 1st brick.

Yeah, but what I really want to know is if they are going to continue to bill me for what now seems to be a free service. I'm paying by a draft on my bank account. I keep mentioning this because I have gotten not a peep of a response from anybody who runs the site and I KNOW they read these comments. I don't mind paying if that is the only way I can access the site, but I'm NOT going to subsidize any free riders! COME CLEAN, KNS!!!
