Outlined against a blue October sky, gray-clad Tennessee stopped just short of riding to a monumental upset Saturday.

I think all Vol fans were shocked by the effort and heart this team and coaching staff put on display today..no team I have ever seen deserved to win a game more than the Vols did today..the fact that they came up short does not diminish the way this team stood up today and kicked dirt in the face of the doubters..myself included..who thought they would get tromped..if this is an indication of the way this team is going to compete..win or lose they are going to be interesting to watch..

Great effort from all. Justin Worley finally showed what he is capable of, just hope he gained confidence and can build from this.
Hang in there guys, brighter days are ahead and help is on the way!

We on our a way, and I truly believe we will get back yo where we want, but it is going to take some time. We have the right Coach.

Great effort by the players and coaches. Great game to watch. First time in a long time I can say that.

The game was marred by a coaching error at the end of regulation time. Run down the clock and kick a field goal. Don't score a touchdown and give the ball back to GA with 1:57 on the clock.

They couldn't do that. Georgia still had a time out left. If we had taken a knee there, GA would have called the time out and still had 1:50 left after the field goal to score the winning touchdown in regulation. We had to have that touchdown.

Its a turn for the better and normalcy in the sec east,,vols held own against 2 best teams with good chance to beat SC. Meanwhile, down nashville way, the dung and mustard gets thrashed @ home.

Well played guys, I understand it hurts; but you have nothing to regret. Go Vols, brighter days are ahead, it is a process.

Pig is a "goat"!!! That wasn't extra effort to put the ball into the end zone. That was showboating! Too many backs want to dive into the end zone to look spectacular. You can watch the replay 50 or 100 times and see that Pig's dive for the goal line is waaaay to soon. From now on he's "Goat" Howard.

IMO, a truly disguising comment.

Great Game and it was wonderful having something to look forward to in the 4th quarter. Coach Jones had the game won, just a few dumb errors from a few at the end.

Looks promising with the upcoming class he recruited!

Though before we get too carried away keep in mind that Dooley's 2012 team almost pulled off an upset against GA and on the road. His 2012 team lost to FL by just three points more than the 2013 Vols under Coach Jones.

Pretty lousy take on Howard's day, IMHO. In the first place, if he hadn't already played well, the Vols wouldn't have been in position for that play to matter. In the second place, he was hit at about the 5-yard-line but kept on trying to score. It's easy to say that another player might have just gone down after the hit, knowing that they had a 1st-and-goal if he didn't make it in, but lots of other players wouldn't have been in position to even try for the score. Howard is a much better player than you are a fan.

I see your point, but I see a whole different attitude from this team than any of Dooley's. The offense was often more explosive but the defense was almost helpless, as we all know. This team hasn't shot itself in the foot as often as some have in the past. We will see if the team comes out with as much fire and confidence against USCe as they showed Saturday, but I think the chances are pretty good that they will. Don't forget that they not only have two weeks to prepare for another big home game, but they should also get back some guys who have been out with injuries. I like their chances against everybody remaining on the schedule except maybe for Alabama, but even then they may give the Tiders more than they expect right now.
