Tennessee won a set but not a match Friday night.
The Lady Vols remained winless in SEC volleyball.
Ole Miss, meanwhile, earned its first win in conference play at UT’s expense, 18-25, 27-25, 25-14, 25-19 at the Gillom Sports Complex in Oxford, Miss.
Tennessee (8-12, 0-6 SEC) opened the first set battling back and forth with the Rebels (11-9, 1-6). Shealyn Kolosky scored a kill for a 7-all tie and Lexi Dempsey followed with a service ace to make it 8-7.
With Nikki Brice serving, UT went on a 4-0 run, capitalizing on two Ole Miss errors and two kills from Carly Wishlow and Whitney Heeres to take a 13-9 lead.
The Lady Vols continued to pull away to gain the early advantage in the match. Heeres led the team with five kills while Wishlow added three.
The momentum changed quickly, however. Ole Miss prevailed in a second set that featured 15 ties and five lead changes.
In both the third and four sets, Ole Miss reeled off six straight points to take charge.
Heeres had a career-best 14 kills for Tennessee, which plays at Mississippi State on Sunday. Ashley Mariani had 10 kills. Dempsey dished out 38 assists, while senior Ellen Mullins had 15 digs.
