Tennessee’s Meighan Simmons and Bashaara Graves have made another watch list for a women’s basketball national award.
The Lady Vols senior guard and sophomore forward are among 30 players on the preseason list for the Wooden Award. The players were chosen by a poll of national media members.
The two Lady Vols also made the preseason watch list for the Wade Trophy.
Simmons, the SEC co-Player of the Year and a third-team Associated Press All-American in 2013, finished second in the conference last season in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game.
Graves, the 2013 SEC Freshman of the Year last season, averaged 13.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while posting 10 double-doubles.
Tennessee was one of six schools to put two or more players on the list. Defending national champion Connecticut led with four.
Baseball: Fans can get a sneak peek of the 2014 Tennessee baseball team on Friday when the Vols play host to Belmont for a scrimmage at 4 p.m. at Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Admission is free.
