ATHENS - In light of all the injuries to befall Georgia and Florida so far and the fact that they’ll be dragging six losses between them and no Top 25 rankings into Jacksonville, they’ve decided to rename the annual rivalry game.
They’re calling it “The World’s Largest Outdoor Pity Party.”
That’s’ the best line I’ve heard so far in advance of next week’s game, which will be played for the 82nd time on the banks of the St. Johns River on Nov. 2. But the reality is, these are two very beat-up teams who have seen their seasons have been significantly impacted by injuries.
