Tennessee coach Butch Jones, two national champion coaches, a Vol Hall of Famer and three former SEC coaches highlight the list of speakers at the Knoxville Quarterback Club, president Jeff Hagood announced this week.
Jones will speak at the initial meeting Sept. 9 and the final meeting Nov. 25.
Former Ohio State coach Jim Tressel, who led the Buckeyes to the 2002 national championship, and Tennessee native Lloyd Carr, who guided Michigan to a share of the 1997 national title, are on the docket.
Ron Zook, a former Tennessee assistant who was head coach at Florida and Illinois, former Arkansas and Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt, and former Auburn coach Pat Dye will take the podium.
Former UT center Bob Johnson, a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and the first player ever selected by the Cincinnati Bengals, Tony Barnhart of CBS Sports, UT’s offensive and defensive coordinators, and men’s basketball coach Cuonzo Martin and Lady Vols coach Holly Warlick complete the list of speakers.
Each week, the QB Club honors area high school players of the week and an area high school official.
Meetings are held each Monday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Calhoun’s on the River. Membership cost $125 for the year. To join both the Quarterback Club and the Big Orange Tip-Off Club, the fee is $175.
