Vols' Brian Randolph named SEC defensive player of the week

Tennessee safety Brian Randolph was named the SEC's defensive player of the week, the league announced on Monday.

Randolph had two interceptions in the Vols' 52-20 win over Western Kentucky at Neyland Stadium on Saturday. The interceptions were the first of Randolph's career.

Randolph is the first Vol to be named defensive player of the week since Eric Berry on Nov. 24, 2008.

Randolph also had eight tackles and one pass break-up on Saturday.

The Vols (2-0) play No. 2 Oregon (2-0) on Saturday at Autzen Stadium in Eugene. (TV: ABC, 3:30 p.m.)
