GVX Audio: Ryan Callahan from Govols247 talks Tennessee/Florida
Ryan Callahan from Govols247 joined Vince Ferrara and Brendan Quinn on the News Sentinel Sports Page Thursday morning to talk about the Vols' next matchup against Florida.
Callahan started by discussing the question of quarterback Justin Worley and whether he was up to the challenge of the Tennessee/Florida rivalry.
"We'll see what comes out of the competition this week. If I had to guess, Justin Worley is more likely to end up getting the start Saturday, but for it to be played out like this I would imagine he feels a little bit less confident in his job and that's obviously what Tennessee coaches wanted. I'm not sure how he might react to that because he hasn't really been in this situation before."
Callahan also said that he thinks young defensive tackles will get more playing time this weekend against the Gators. "That group should look relatively okay, but with no doubt the lack of depth after losing Trevarris Saulsberry is going to be tested there at defensive tackle. That's not a great spot to have lost somebody going into this game because Florida likes to run between the tackles and Saulsberry was playing really well."
Brendan Quinn raised the question of whether Tennessee's defense is up to facing some of the big plays they saw during last year's game.
"I think they might be, but it's hard to say because Oregon is the only time we've gotten to see this defense get tested by a quality opponent."
