The Tennessee softball team has released its 2013 fall exhibition schedule, which features eight home exhibition games in October and an alumni game in November.
All games will be played at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium, and admission is free.
Fans can get a first look at the 2014 team on Oct. 6, when Tennessee hosts Lee University at 6 p.m.
From Oct. 11-13, UT hosts Tennessee Tech, Bethel, Chipola State, Milligan, Volunteer State and Virginia Intermont in the Tennessee Fall Classic. The Lady Vols play Tennessee Tech and Bethel in a doubleheader on Oct. 11 starting at 6 p.m. UT has two more games on Oct. 12 when it plays Chipola State at 12:30 and Milligan at 3 p.m. Tennessee finishes up the tournament on Oct. 13 with games against Volunteer State at 3 p.m. and Virginia Intermont at 5:30.
On Oct. 20, UT hosts Tusculum at 3 p.m.
On Nov. 8, Tennessee will take on several former UT players in the annual Alumni Game. The alumni team will include Raven Chavanne, Lauren Gibson, Kat Dotson, Ivy Renfroe, Melissa Brown, Tiffany Huff, Ashley Andrews, Shelby Burchell and Sarah Fekete Bailey.
Fall practice for the Lady Vols starts Sept. 30.
Women’s Golf: The second round of the Mercedes-Benz Championship was suspended on Saturday due to heavy rains. Final-round play at Cherokee Country Club will resume on Sunday.
The tournament was reduced to 36 holes.
The Lady Vols are in fourth place and six strokes behind leader South Carolina.
Next Sunday the Lady Vols will host a free golf clinic at the Mack and Jonnie Day Golf Practice Facility from 3-5 p.m. The event will benefit ovarian cancer.
The clinic is open to all ages. Each participant will receive personal instruction from the UT coaching staff and players. The clinic will be capped after the first 80 enrollees.
