Your last few lines pretty much tell the Vols' story so far this season. If Thompson can hold his own, the Vols should be in great shape, but they can't take anything for granted.

I look for Vandy to employ some kind of junk defense that tries to clog the middle with maybe some individual attention to Thompson and McRae. "Cut off the head of the snake", as it were. If the 'Dores are smart, they will have looked at tapes of the Vols' Bahamas tournment game against UTEP, IIRC, who employed a junk defense that completely took the Vols out of the game.

If so, the way the Vols deal with it will show how far they have come offensively since that stage of the season. Also, Fuller and Odom look to be the kind of players who have gone to town on the Vols in the past. The Vols will need to make them work for every shot but NOT run up fouls doing so. This Vandy team doesn't shoot FTs as well as most of their previous ones, but the Vols shouldn't give them too many extra chances.

this team really needs to step and take advantage of this depleated vandy team. we should win....but that's when they stink it up sometimes. vandy is a weird place to play, and i hope the freshman makes something special happen tonight.

Looks like the lazy I don't give a phooey losers have infiltrated Nashville.
Down by 10 at the half in a pathetic performance.
We are walking up and down the court against a team of 7 players with two of whom have 2 fouls.
Thompson is a non- event and Barton is a waste.

The Vols looked like they wanted to play the last 10 min..too little too late..against a Vandy team short on talent..long on heart and effort..the Vols..just the opposite tonite..sad

This team is pathetic. More talent than every team they've played (except for Florida and equal to Kentucky and Wichita St.) yet they can't beat a bad, depleted Vandy team that has no business being on the same court as Tennessee. There has been no improvement from this team in 3 years. One foot in the NIT and the other is close behind.
