GVX Audio: Kent Williams talks UT Basketball
KNOXVILLE — Kent Williams, UT men's basketball assistant coach, joined Vince Ferrara and News Sentinel writer John Adams on the Sports Page Friday morning. The three talked about the team's performance against Vanderbilt on Wednesday.
"We had two really good games in a row with Ole Miss and Alabama and I feel like we executed our game plans really well. Going into Vanderbilt we knew it was going to be tough. They were playing really good basketball and they just won three in a row," Williams said.
After a questionable non-call in the final seconds — and stellar play from two Vanderbilt seniors throughout — the Vols were defeated 64-60.
"When it came down to them just playing basketball and making plays, they came through and made the big plays. It's hard to win road games in league play if you don't get off to a good start and are playing from behind," Williams said.
