Tennessee offensive graduate assistant Cody Kempt has been hired as the new receivers coach at Montana State, his alma mater.

The news was first reported by the Bobcat Nation website.

Kempt worked closely with the quarterbacks under offensive coordinator Mike Bajakian. He served in the same role at Cincinnati before joining Bajakian and coach Butch Jones at Tennessee.

He began his playing career at Oregon before transferring to Montana State. He threw for 2,575 yards and 21 touchdowns during his three-year career. Kempt's younger brother Kyle is a quarterback at Oregon State.
