A moronic statement....KCSD gave them two warnings....and the participants were either too foolish or too cool to heed. Now their stupidity will have consequences....

2 sides to every story. Whoever turned the music back up created a mess. Cops just doing their jobs, Drunk kids acting like fools. No reason to go off the deep end and start blaming the cops or hating the kids.

College kids do stupid things...but these guys are supposed to be leaders on a SEC football team! And they KNOW BETTER! These deputies obviously did all they could to get these LEADERS to "HELP ME HELP YOU" and they didn't get it! They knew enough to call a coach or grad assistant...which is standard protocol for these situations. The athletes are told who to call if trouble arises...this is a clear indication they knew they were in a danger zone...but smoking pot reduces the brain's ability to make good impulse decisions...this whole scenario follows a predictable pattern. No one to blame but themselves. Which also explains a lot about the UT football team's inability to play up to their potential for 60 minutes last Fall. CBJ needs to nip this in the bud and send a loud signal...loud and clear.

"At least a dozen squad cars"? I stand by my original comment. If that's all the KCSD has to do, some of them are superfluous and need to be fired.

your at a party, police shows up and tells you a complaint has been made about the loud music. And the police tell you that if they have to come back, they will check everybodys ID. Telling you without saying, theres gonna be a problem with underage drinking and things wont be good for them. Just turn down the music and keep the noise down, You know pot and drinking are inside. Simple question.....what do you do, you either leave, or turn down the music, no brainer. Hope they learn.

We will not hear anything from Butch as this will be handled internally and the players will get probation. It will go away. Count on it.

There were NINETY PEOPLE at that party! Some of them to this day may not have a direct memory of being there! The week hardly goes by that some teen party doesn't get out of hand because mobs of people hear on social media about a party somewhere and think they've been invited. Some people would have no qualms about turning up the music in somebody else's house, not even necessarily knowing the cops had ever been there. The only kind of young people's party these days with that many people and nobody carrying weed would probably be at a church camp. That is probably why no drug charges were made. We might all prefer that things were different, but this is the reality these kids are living. The whole thing was a miserable shame but it wasn't even a brawl, let alone a sign of the apocalypse.

This is almost what we hope they are doing Sat night around midnight. At least realistically speaking. If I didn't drink and had witnesses (or not) and I was cited and put in the paper for drinking I would like to sue somebody at the least! I mean they just put flat out lies about you in the paper and it was somebody's fault. Why not go in to every public place or home that serves alcohol and cite every underage person for just being there and tell them they should not be there they should have left home when Mom AND DAD started drinking. That is what they told the 2 players not drinking basically. By the way I dont drink and never have but have had roommates that drink and I would be livid to get charged with serving alcohol to minors because I live somewhere or cited for drinking because my roommate had beer in the fridge!
