The Tennessee men’s basketball home game against Vanderbit on March 1 will be broadcast on ESPN2, UT announced Thursday.

Previously the cable network had not yet decided between airing the game on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Vols and the Commodores will tip off at noon. Former UT and NBA star Dale Ellis will have his No. 14 jersey retired in a pregame ceremony.

UT lost this season’s first meeting with rival Vanderbilt 64-60 on Feb. 5 at Memorial Gym in Nashville.

Oh boy, 2 less than average teams. More bad basketball.

Surely the Vols will give a bit more effort than in the first game..which was sickening..

If Tennessee doesn't come out running these guys up and down the floor til that so called "iron seven's" tongues are soaking up wood chips off the Summitt floor, then I am going down there and have to hurt people. Intensity and pace needs to go up big time. Vols need to make up for that embarrassing loss in Nashville!

Please, Vols, don't sully Dale Ellis' big day by sleepwalking through a game the way you did on Bernard King's night! There is just no time for all this floundering around through games you have to win! Games you OUGHT to win! The bad thing for the Vols in terms of their finish in the conference is that, IIRC, they have no games left against anybody above them in the standings. They not only have to win out, they need somebody to beat some of those teams ahead of them. In any case, all they can do is control what is in front of them. No more excuses! Get it done!

100% agree. I couldn't understand why CCM didn't pressure them and make it a track meet and run them off their feet. That game, like many others was tough to watch.
