With the Under Armour and U.S. Army All-American Bowl games underway, analysts are able to have a front row seat to the best action. Ryan Callahan gives his opinion on how analysts get more out of practice rather than the actual game.
"For our analysts, they get a chance to be right there on the field and kind of watch it all and see a number of different drills that are pretty telling regarding a players skill set," Callahan said. "They even have some skills competitions at the Under Armour game that are pretty neat. The guys get a chance to do one-on-one competitions and skill competitions. So there are some good chances to get a better feel for some of the top players in the country and see if we're pretty close on our initial evaluations of those guys before we update our final ratings before signing day."
"Tennessee is really well represented in all of the All-Star games this year. There are a couple of newer games where there are several Tennessee commitments playing also," Callahan said. "The two main games, the Under Armour and Army games, Tennessee also has a few guys in those.
Todd Kelly Jr. along with other Tennessee players will be playing in the two All-Star games.
"Initial reports on Josh Malone were that he was supposedly one of the best receivers in practice for the East team yesterday. So that's a good start to the week for him. Todd Kelly Jr. was also one of the top performers according to 247Sports JC Shurburtt. So both of those guys got off to a good start."
