Just finished the three hour trip home from watching the Lady Vols play. I was also at the game in Murfreesboro to start the season. We do not look any better now than we did then. It is so very sad to see our program slide. A lot of people were blaming the refs as I was leaving, but fans that was just a small part of it, we have enough talent that we should have beaten them ref's and all.

Vandy may call it a win over a great team but in reality, they mean the tradition of a great team. This one is NOT great. They don't play smart BB. When you are taller, you make the team defend you inside. When you are faster, they you run. You pick your moments. This team just runs and makes bad passes. How did you like the 2 on 1 with Simmons controlling the fast break. No one was covering the other player who would have made an easy layup. No, hog Simmons drives it all by herself into the defender for a charge. Junior high teams practice 2 on 1 fast breaks. Run correctly, they can't be stopped. Pat would have called timeout and settled the team down. I even saw an assistant saying "take it easy". Holly is TOO NICE and doesn't control the game. They aren't a top 10 team. They are tall and talented but not BB smart.

It took a while to come on here and express my opinion about this team i love so dearly. I hate to critize players or coaches but wow that last few mins of the game was a disaster. I will have to blame the coaches and Im sorry this one goes on Izzy as well. You have to be a leader and be mature enough to walk away from a confrontation in a hostile environment like memorial with the game in the balance. The court played another role in this too and the configuration should be banned by the Ncaa as being a unfair advantage to the team. It was on CHW for not having them prepared for that court . She should have practiced some kinda signals or something the whole time they were preparing. Im quite sure they practiced being on the opposite ends of the court all week. But maybe they literally needed to sit or stand there and coach every practice they had . Things got really bad after that TO and i believe they should have went back to Simmons,Carter and Jasmine for offense. Ariel took a vacation today. That was 12-16 pts we needed from her. Carolyn Peck was correct when she said the opposing point guards have a difficult time playing there because they are all alone most the time and had to make most of the play calls. I knew this was going to be a trap game. Carolyn Peck also took a swipe at CW when she mention that Pat would Demand paint points or your coming out. I saw a sense of uncertainy in the eyes of CW when the assistant was trying to get her to see something wrong and all she could do was whistle. The substititions were horrible and only Simmons, Jones, and Carter was out there busting their rearends. The rest were lost.
With the amount of talent we have here something is wrong. Only a phenomenal player with the talent to take a team on her shoulders can right this ship. I'm afraid we have too much talent to know what to do with.

The first two possessions were very telling. A turnover and a foul. This program was built on defense and rebounding. Someone needs to explain what defense is all about. I have seen more uncontested layups this year than in the past five years combined. It's absolutely disgusting!!!

The point you make about being taller and not using it to your advantage was also made by the announcer who stated she did not understand why Russell was not used more when Izzy went out..I think Warlick did panic at some of the officiating and she did let Vandy dictate how the game was being played when she went to a smaller lineup..Simmons is a college senior who passes the ball on a high school freshman level..and she has since day one..this not likely to change at this point..the only way to get the most of her shooting talent is to order her to give the ball up quickly and accurately to better ball handlers when she does not have an open look..there is no excuse for the numerous charging fouls when all you have to do is pull up and shoot a short jumper..when this season started ..I think the two highest rated teams were Ky and the Lady Vols..both have now lost 2..the SEC race has taken an unexpected turn and looks like the overall strength has changed a bunch..the Lady Vols are going to have to come prepared to play every game if they are going to get back in it..I think when Holly opened the game with Carter on the bench ..it was a huge mistake..Carter is the best defender on the team and helps dictate what the other team can do..the lack of team speed is a problem at times..Carter plays fast but under control..

Enough is Enough! Former CPS would never have allowed Vandy to win this game. She would have gotten in the player's faces and willed them to play victoriously LVB! Holly is nice but our coaches are lacking. We have the height but our bigs are not playing to their potential. A major problem for this team is outside shooting. We need some 3 point shooters who can knock down the trey so the inside game will open up! This is not happening. Our recruiting has to get better and if this coaching staff is inept at doing so, then fire the lot and bring in a staff that will take no prisoners. Maybe one day another Summitt will lead us to the promised land again but LV fans, we are not the teams of glory days past. Recruit, Coach, and play with intensity will win games but this LV team is not 100% committed to bringing their A game each and every game and as of right now, I see us as a number 4 or 5 seed when the brackets are announced for the big dance! GO LV, work hard and make us proud! Work, Work, Work! Dedicate yourselves to get to Nashville!!! Enough of mediocrity already!

I think CHW has a passion and love for Lady Vols Basketball, however, I have my doubts about her ability to lead the program. While I think she has a lot of good qualities, I don't see her being the tactician she needs to be as a head coach. Many times she looks very uncomfortable and when coach Elzy was attempting to get her attention as the momentum began to swing, she completely ignores her. Why was the #1 recruit in the country sitting on the bench? and why would you abandon your bread and butter? The same issues repeat themselves game after game. I also find the post game comments very telling as she appears to be at a loss for what to do and where to go. In addition, Graves has not looked happy for a while and something just doesn't seem right in Knoxville. If this continues, I see losses with Notre Dame, South Carolina, Kentucky and Texas A&M
